DIFFERENT TITLE DOES NOT MEAN DIFFERENT BOOK

If this is my fault, please let me know. A few years ago, I bought the book THE DINOSAURS OF WATERHOUSE HAWKINS. I loved the book, so when I saw the book THE EXTRADORDINARY DINOSAURS OF MR WATERHOUSE HAWKINS, I concluded the book was a sequel by the same author. The cover is different and the title is slightly different. I assumed the author had so much to say that she could not contain it all in one book. When I got the latest book and saw it was what I bought years ago, I felt deceived. Wouldn't a later edition keep the original title?

Missing Pages!!!!!

I am in the middle of my class and just realized this book has some weird error and the pages jump from 260 to 309. Pages aren't even torn out, it's just not there. I have to buy a new book or fail my class now. Sadly I have homework from the book due in three days (assigned last night) and I'm pretty much out of luck. I don't know who to blame; but this is ridiculous.

I Feel Cheated

I paid $133.00 for a Kindle book for portability and mobility. The only device I can use is Kindle for PC, which virtually locks me to my office. The book info says I can download it to up to two devices, yet when I try to download to my Kindle Touch or my Samsung Galaxy Note II, it tells me the book is incompatible with the device. Seriously??? When did TEXT become incompatible? I want a refund.

Well written and full of useful information

The format of the textbook is written extremely well. Chapters are broken down smoothly with all information being useful. No fluff which can be annoying. I rented the text but wish I bought it.
For some reason I read from others how useless textbooks are. I never understood that thought process. To me, all textbooks contain some type of usefulness. This one goes above and beyond that. For me, it was (dare I say it) fun to read.

About the Author
Floyd Has Barackman was an instructor in systematic theology at Practical Bible Training School, Bible School Park, New York, where has has taught since 1962. He pastored the Calvary Baptist Church in Meadville, Pennsylvania, Grace Baptist Church of Newfane, New York and the First Baptist Church of Maine, New York. He has written adult studies for Accent Publications of Denver, been the expositor for Practical Bible Training School's paper, The Alumnus, and authored How to Interpret the Bible, Practical Christian Theology, and Victors Not Victims.

Best Hands On Theology Book for Pastors & Laymen Alike

Barackman has compiled a concise but thorough practical theology that outlines matters of both doctrine and practice. Unlike multi-volume works, this book puts doctrine at your fingertips. Although multi-volume works may be more detailed, none are more "packed" nor less intimidating. I use this for lesson preparation, I bought copies for each of my elders, and I give a copy to those I have discipled or want to develop more deeply. This book needs to get into the hands of our church leaders, but pastors will also get a lot of use from this one.

The author is Pre-millennial, Dispensational, eteranlly secure, and holds to inerrancy. Pastors/laymen from Bible Churches, Ev. Free Churches, Baptist, Grace Brethren, and numerous other evangelical/fundamental denominations and fellowships will probably agree with the doctrinal and practical content of this work. As a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, I find this book very much in line with sound doctrine.

Do not be deceived: though this is only one volume and concise, it strikes me as quite scholarly. A truly helpful tool for hands on ministry, and a solid theological education for the untrained.

Good as reference if you agree, not great for learning

As other reviewers have stated, this is a good reference tool - assuming you agree theologically with the author. If you are interested in learning about theology tough, as I am, I would look elsewhere. This book is truly more of an outline with scripture references and a certain amount of justification, but primarly useful as a reference tool. I would be more interested if the author provided more detailed exegesis to support his positions and explained them more thoroughly, rather than just making assertions without fully supporting them.

Big Fat "Meh."

I really can't think of much to say about this book (and boy did that turn out to be a lie). The story's fine, I guess, but there's errors all over the place. Extra words that have some sentences making no sense, commas and periods where there shouldn't be and not where they should be. I don't know how long Burton was writing when this one came out, but she and her editor should have looked it over a few more times before putting it through. The characters are another thing. Despite how long we spend with some of them, it doesn't feel like we learn anything about them at all, almost like they themselves and their relationships were an afterthought to the (relatively weak) murder plot.
Oh, and did I mention how freaking repetitive it is? I feel like I've read the phrase "ran/shoved/pushed long fingers through his/her hair" a hundred times by now and it's starting to not sound like words anymore. There are also a lot of places where the phrasing just sounds redundant and I found myself mentally changing it as I read so it flowed more. I've read the middle book in the trilogy, Dead Ringer, a couple times and it's a lot better than this one. Fewer errors, more time spent on the developing romance between detective and psycho-target, not to mention on the characters in general. This one just feels like she was too close to the release deadline to really give it the attention it needed. I'm reading "I'm Watching You" after this and I'm just really hoping it doesn't have the same problems as this one does, otherwise I might think twice about buying her books again.

An excellent suspenseful book as usual

Mary Barton has a way of keeping you guessing about whodunit. If you do guess, you are never sure you are right until the very end. I liked the characters, especially that there were so many and you felt you knew all of them to some extent. If you like a romantic suspense you can't put down, you can't go wrong with a book by this author.

Another Great Thriller by Ms. Burton

This was another great thriller by Ms. Burton that had me on the edge of my seat. Although it's not necessary, I'd recommend reading 'Dead Ringer' first since details about Adrianna's past are revealed in that story. I really liked Gage who has made it his mission to find the missing and bring a sense of peace to their families. He's a hard man and singularly focused on his job which makes it hard to have a lasting relationship. Adrianna honestly wasn't the most lovable heroine, but she did end up growing on me. As the dead bodies pile up, the mystery just kept throwing me through loops. I had ideas but never could pin down who the killer was exactly. There were a couple of big surprises at the end which I didn't see coming either. Overall it was a thrilling read that flowed well and had just enough shock value and suspense to keep me reading. As is usually the case with this author, I do wish there had been more effort put into the romance. I still love her stories though and can't wait for the next one!
